Tell the counter

Corrections, licence terms that have moved since we read them, and everything else.

What is most useful to send

A term that has moved. This is the single most valuable thing we receive. Licence wording, support windows and renewal behaviour all get revised quietly, and the sellers do not issue notices. If a figure on this site no longer matches what the seller's page says, tell us which page and what it says now — a link and a line is plenty.

A clause we got wrong. We read these carefully and we are still reading English written by lawyers. If we have mischaracterised something, say so directly and point at the wording.

A seller we have missed. Particularly independent theme shops, which are the hardest category to survey from outside and the one where the good operators are least visible. Tell us who publishes a proper changelog and an honest non-renewal statement.

What happens to a correction

It gets checked against the seller's own page, then the article is amended with the new date attached. We do not silently edit — the recount date on every page moves when its contents do, which is the only way anyone can tell whether what they are reading is current.

What we cannot help with

We are not a support desk for any seller, we hold no licence keys, and we cannot intervene in a dispute over a purchase. If a bundled plugin has stopped updating or an author has gone quiet, the route runs through the seller you bought from — and the entry on abandoned templates sets out what your realistic options are.

We also cannot tell you which template to pick. That is genuinely your decision, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something. What we can tell you is what each source's terms will do to you afterwards, which is the whole point of the count.

Press and corrections policy

Happy to talk to anyone writing about licensing in this category. Every figure we publish carries a source link and a date, so a correction request that cites the seller's current page will always be acted on faster than one that does not.
